Boxing Betting
Boxing betting has captured the imagination of sports fans throughout the world over generations. Boxing betting has provided some of the most compelling moments ever witnessed in sport: the Rumble in the Jungle, Buster Douglas beating Tyson, the titanic struggles between Benn and Eubank, the Holyfield ear incident: the list just goes on and on.
Boxing was introduced as a sport in the Olympic Games in 688BC but it was not until 1867 that the Queensbury Rules were introduced which are still used today: gloves to be worn, ten second count, no wrestling and three minute rounds. Since then further safety measures have been brought in.
Today in boxing betting there are many different weights ranging from straw-weight to super heavy weight and there are different divisions contested amongst the professionals, such as IBF, WBC and WBO. There are opportunities for boxing betting on both the professional and the amateur sides of the sport. Perhaps the biggest two boxing betting amateur events are the Olympic and Commonwealth games.
The professional boxing betting matches last for 12 rounds as opposed to amateur that only last for 3 unless there is a knockout or technical knock out (where the fight has to be stopped after one of the fighters is too seriously injured to continue).
Boxing betting is accepted on most major bouts held throughout the world.
Boxing betting procedures require players to lay or take Money Odds on the fighter of their choice or the Draw line. Players can also place a boxing bet on the number of rounds the fight will last.
