France’s impressive stand, Brazil fails in the World Cup

The Brazilians were supposed to be too good for the old French players but last Saturday's those who thought so were wrong as France made a stand and got a passage to the semifinals. Brazil's sparkling team is leaving Germany without the cup many assumed it would take home.
It was the Brazilians, the defending champions with two of the world's greatest offensive players, who were sluggish in their attack.
It was the masterful performance from 34-year-old midfielder Zinedine Zidane, who claimed a 1-0 victory over the defending champions and earned the final spot in the semifinals.
Brazil hadn't lost a game in the World Cup since and it entered Saturday's game as a firm favorite. Brazil which played in the last three World Cup finals suffered its earliest exit since 1990. There is no mistake to admit it was sad to see the team leaving after everyone thought Brazil to be the next World cup holder, but this is part of the game.
