Hoyas to the Final Four
By Alfred Johnson
The 2006-2007 NCAA tournament has been packed of unbelievable rallies, and it turned out it was Hoyas' time. They rallied from 11 down in the second half; then ripped off 14 straight points in overtime to astonish the top-seeded Tar Heels 96-84 in the East Regional final last Sunday.
Earlier, the defending champion Florida Gators advanced with an 85-77 win over the Oregon Ducks. Lee Humphrey made seven three-pointers and scored 23 points for the Gators, while Taurean Green added 21 more. Aaron Brooks was the high scorer in the game, tallying 27 points for Oregon.
Despite, Hoyas cannot avoid comparisons to their past performance. They lost the 1985 championship game to Villanova, and won the 1984 title by beating Houston. It is expected that the team will move even further in the competition and who knows they might surprise us as to the outcomes we are still to witness.
