By Alfred Johnson

Denmark's Kessler retained his title when Lucas quit in the 10th round on Saturday.

Kessler’s improved his boxing record to 37-0 with 27 knockouts at Broendbyhallen arena.

Eric Lucas dropped to 38-7-3 after his corner threw in the towel in the 10th round.

Denmark's boxing fighter Mikkel Kessler and his left jab kept Lucas wary. Kessler dominated before about 6,000 fans at the arena in Copenhagen, Denmark. Kessler connected with a deep jab to Lucas' jaw in the second round cutting his right eyebrow twice.

Lucas' became the WBC super middleweight champ in July 2001; he defended the boxing title three times before losing it in 2003 to Markus Beyer of Germany on a split decision.
